やっと成功！ I succeeded at making wild yeast bread.

今まで何回か試してきた天然酵母ってやつ。生の果実やレーズン、この世のある自然なものに付いている酵母菌を使って焼くパン。
今まで一度もうまくいかなかったけど、この前初めて成功、パンになりました＾＾
ここまでにかかった時間２週間かな？
そう、とっても時間がかかってちょっとしたペットを持ったのような気分でした。
ドライイーストのパンはそれで私は好きだけど、天然酵母はもうちょっと複雑な味がすると思う。
それがいいとか悪いとかではなくて、ゆうたら、ドライイーストはもうちょっと日本的な
単一民族で、天然酵母はアメリカみたいに人種のるつぼ、
ゆえにいろんな味がミックスされているみたいな。。。わかりにくいか。。＾＾：


私は今回、生いちごから天然酵母をとったんだけど、いちごの風味がどこかでやはりするので
レーズンパンなんかの甘い系がしっくりくる気がする。

なかなか時間がかかるけど、ゆっくりパンを焼きたい時にはいい感じ。

I had tried making wild yeast bread several times, but I never done it yet. I did it this time :-) I made it from fresh strawberries this time, it had been for about 2 weeks until we could eat the bread, it's kinda long time, but I enjoyed cultivating them and the bread was really tasty :-)

Bread made by dried yeast is easier and takes shorter time, and I like it too. Bread made by wild yeast is more like complex taste because it contains a lot of kind of yeasts. So dried yeast is like Japanese culture and wild yeast is like American culture. I like both, they are just different. When I want bread is like uniformed and stable and I don't have time, I would use dried yeast, when I want bread is like naturally and complex taste and I don't hurry, I would use wild one. Making bread is fun!!!

いやいや、前回の日記でほんまにご心配おかけしましてごめんなさい。そしてたくさんのメッセ、コメント本当に本当にありがとう！！
すごく孤独な気分だったから本当に救われました。

子どもの前で号泣して、夜２日続けて9時、８時就寝、今はだいぶ気分がマシになりました。

子どもの事、自分の事、仕事、人間関係、全てをもっと力抜いて考えようと思いました。
どうも色々考えすぎて、物理的にも精神的にもいっぱいいっぱいだったなと。
まぁ一理、シアトルの天気にも（いつも雨か曇り）やられていたのかも＾＾：

家がちょっとくらい汚かろうが、家事が全てできなかろうが、喜音がうまくひらがな書けなかろうが、あまり心配するのをやめてみます。笑

そして、日本に帰ったらみんな遊んでくださいね〜♪
本当に、本当にみんなありがとう！！！！！

しんどい。

頑張っていつも前向きでいようとしてるけど、
あと一ヶ月で日本に帰れるけど、

本当に今の生活がしんどくって今日は子どもの前で大泣きしてしまった。


ぶり豚が勉強しんどいってわかるから、あまり無理も言えないし

でも全部自分でできないし

両方の親は遠くてなにも頼めないし

お金ないからこどもをちょっとベビーシッターしてもらうこともできないし

車乗れないから、バスじゃないと遠出もできないし

週末は働かないとだから家族で一緒に遊べる時間はないし

言いたいことすべて英語で表せるわけじゃないし

こどもたちが病気をせずに五体満足で、ご飯も食べていけているし

このご時世に働かせてくれるところもある、

週４ヨガにも通えている。

文句言うところではないってわかってるけど

しんどいです。。。。。

正直、来年ぶり豚が学生終わるまで日本の実家にいて

別々に住もうかとさえ考えている、私。

これを読んだ人がきっと心配すると思いつつ、自分の気持ちを正直に
書いたらちょっと気が紛れるかな〜と書いてしまいました。

はぁ〜あと１時間で仕事か。。。。

がんばれ、麻実！

I was blue on last sunday, I got so tired from the life recently. I know there are lots of people who have harder life than me, and I am lucky because I can go to yoga class at YMCA 4days a week and kids are healthy, Brit is doing well at his school, everything is going cool, but sometimes I feel very lonely and down :-(

I am trying to let Brit study at home as long as possible, but on the other hand, I want him to listen to me, but he is too busy, he is also trying to make me happy though.... I know it.

I wish we could have time to do something together more.
I wish we had enough money to pay for babysitting sometime.
I wish I could speak English more.

I need more time and energy.

I know I should be satisfied with my currently life.

I hope I would feel better this week :-)

母の日 Mother's day

喜音から、プリスクールで作ってきてくれました。
カードとチョコ。チョコってあたりがアメリカンよね＾＾：
Yukine gave me a card and chocolate from preschool.

四角の中の小さい人は赤ちゃんの喜音で、ベビーベッドに寝てるところらしい。

A small person in the square was baby Yukine, she laid down on a crib she explained to me.

すれ違い夫婦の私たち、ひさびさの家族4人そろった休日。ああ〜うれし♪ああ、幸せ♪

シアトルのプロサッカーチームの試合を見に行きました。サッカー観戦は前に京都パープルサンガを見に行った以来２回目。強さもサンガくらいらしい。あいかわらずサッカーにあまり興味がない私だけど、生観戦はそれなりに盛り上がる。笑

We went to the Seattle sounders FC's game on mother's day. Brit's school bought the tickets for us, actually for only Brit though, very kind Brit's friend gave us extra tickets, thank you thank you!
I had work off, so we spent time all together all day long, I was really happy about it :-) The soccer game was a kind pissed us off, but still had a great family time.

夕ご飯もぶり豚がすべて用意してくれた。
コーンビーフ、って缶じゃないよ。ちゃんと肉から作れるらしく挑戦してた。それがなかなかおいしい。キャベツとか蕪とかにんじん、いっぱい野菜もいれて煮る。ポトフみたい。

それから、デザートは自家製アイス。
アイスクリームメーカーがリサイクルショップで６ドル。
それを試してみた。なんか失敗ぎみだったんだけど食べてみたら
アイスの味。ラズベリー入れてけっこう美味しかった。

母はこれからもがんばります！

Brit prepared everything for dinner!
He tried to make corned beef this time. Actually it was really good. I never taste real corned beef not can stuff before. It was of course much much better than cans one.

And on the other day, we got an ice cream maker from the thrift store, so we tried it.
Brit boiled the cream too long, so it was a little bit weird looking but taste was ok. We will try it again soon.

Thank you for my family, I had a really good mother's day :-)

アートな日々 Art week

シアトルでは毎月第一木曜日に
Seattle Art Museum (通称　SAM）の入館料がフリーになります。
（他の博物館も違う曜日とかフリーになる日があったような。。。）
前々から気になってはいたけど子どもとゆっくりも見れないし、
と諦めていたところ、お友達も子づれで行くとのこと。
じゃあご一緒にっ！と行ってきました。





行ってみたら結構子連れで来ている人が多かった。
でもそこはさすがに美術館。
子どもももちろん、静かにアートを見なくてはいけません。

On every first Thursday of months, Seattle Art Museum (SAM) 's admission is free! Though I knew about it, I thought that it would be hard to see works with two little monkeys, so I've never been there before. But one of my friends told about it and she and her two kids would go there, so we followed them. My friend's kids are very close to my kids age and the same gender too, older one is a girl and younger one is boy :) So they became friends easily.


Anyway, once we got there, there were many parents and their kids too, which made me feel more free :-) However, it still is a museum, even kids have to be quiet and see pictures or objects. Yukine has a very very short attention span so I really worried to walk around the museum, but she was doing good, she liked the one of oil painting of a mom and one girl and one baby just like Yukine and Kanata :-)
We walked around in the morning kids had a patient, and then we moved to kids corner and we spent time a little bit until lunch time.

I haven't been to museum for a long time, I like artistic stuffs though, so I enjoyed them chasing kids. It was a good time.

一緒にいった友達も子どもの集中力のある午前中に何個か決めて一緒にまわり、
絵や展示物を見て、そのあと子ども用の広場で少し遊ばせるとのこと。
うん、それは頭がいい。
でも現代美術館なので斬新なものが多くあって子どもでも面白いものも。
私もアートに触れる機会ってなかなかないから久々にとても刺激されました。

次の日の夜は近所でArt Walkという
アートフェスティバルが開かれていたのでそれにも顔をだしました。
この近所は普段からかわいい通り、お店なんかが並んでいて
私のお気に入りのところ。
いろんなお店やダンス教室なんかが協力して
アートの展示、音楽ライブなんかをしてました。

And next day, Friday's evening, it was " Art walk" in a little bit down neighbor from our place, so we went there.
I usually like this neighborhood where some cute cafes, cute shops, and pretty buildings. at the time, these shops and cafes changed as galleries and theaters and gig places. AND they surved snacks too! ;-) haha~





そして、月曜日はぶり豚の大学の学部が100周年イベントをしているということで私たちも。
外で音楽をしていてそれを聞いたり、学会のあとに残ったクッキーをちょっと拝借したり。笑




On Monday, Birt's university department, Jackson school, had a big party for the 100th anniversary. We visted to him and listened to some music and got some cookies :-)

なんだかアーティスティックな数日をすごし、
普段の生活でなかなか刺激をうけない頭の部分を活性化された
そんな日々でした。

So these were our last week. Lots lots of arts and musics!

車を買いました！！！ We got a car!!!! yeah!!

できれば環境のため、お金のため、健康のため。。。などなど、車を持たない生活を続けたかったけどあまりにも子ども２人と公共交通機関の不充実さ（シアトルはマシです。でもどうしてもバスだけだと、、、、もっとダウンタウンの中なら要らないんだろうけど。）に遂に車を所持することに。



そんな素晴らしい車じゃないけど、そんな新しくもないけど、予算内で状態も綺麗でホンダなので満足な買い物だと思ってます。


ああ、これで、土砂降りの中、自転車通勤しなくていい！　３０分遅れるバスを寒い中待って、あげくに次のバスに追い越されるなんてことしなくていい！　重い荷物をベビーカーに必死で詰めて坂道を登らなくていい！！！！

ああ、うれし♪



We didn't want to have a car if we can, but it's too hard to handle a life with small kids and without a car, so we decided having a car. We were looking for some cars which is not so expensive.... I mean, cheap :p and Japanese or European car if we can get, and we found Honda which came in our budget. I'm soooo happy!

I don't have to ride a bicycle to the way to work in a heavy rain anymore!
I don't have to wait for a 30 mins late bus in a cold winter!
I don't have to put heavy groceries in Kanata's stroller hard and push it up a hill holding him!!!

That would be a fantastic :-D

シャボン玉おじさん The Bubble man

再び、お天気のいい日にCarkeek parkにお友達と一緒に行ってきました。だいぶお天気の日が続くようになったシアトル。とっても気持ちがいいです＾＾

We went to Carkeek park again with our friend and her son :-) It was a beautiful day, so there were lots of kids and parents there.


この前来たときもいたんだけど、シャボン玉おじさん（自称　Bubble man)がこの日も来てました。前は遅くてパフォーマンスが終わってしまっていたけど、今回は間に合った。

And, a Bubble man also came :-) When we came here, he was there too, but it's too late for his performance, we missed it last time, but in this time, we could see it :-) He made tons of tons of bubbles and performed several things which made kids very excited.
いろ〜んなシャボン玉を作ってくれて、パラソルとかでもおもしろおかしく芸を見せて子どものツボを押さえたバブルマン＾＾

もう子供たちはおおはしゃぎ。シャボン玉でこんなに幸せになれる子ども。。。ああ戻りたい。笑
本当にいいお天気で海も山も綺麗に見渡せて気分がとってもいい一日でした＾＾

体操 Little gymnastic girl

この4月から喜音の希望により、体操を始めました。バレエ、水泳も候補でしたが、バレエでかわいいチュチュは着たがるけど、やっぱりモンキー喜音はどっちかっていうと体操だろうと。笑　彼女にとって初めての本格的体操.なかなか筋がいいらしい、さすが猿。

Yukine started going the gymnastic lessen form this April. Yukine loves this class :-) We bet Yukine would prefer a gymnastic than Ballet because she loves wearing leotard AND climbing on and jumpping on things like a monkey! Actually, she is doing very very good, the coach John was really surprised that this is her first time of gymnastic. I'm really proud of her :-)

３、４歳のクラスで喜音が一番お姉さんかな。体操のテクニックもさることながら、コーチの言うことをちゃんと聞く、順番を守る、言われたとおりにする、先走らない、そんなことがいつの間にかできるようになっていて、それにちょっと感動しました。
少しは大人になったのだなと。　私が相手だと全然だめですが。やっぱり身内は甘えがでるのですね〜。とくに甘えん坊の喜音は。
This class for 3 and 4 years old, so Yukine is the oldest, I think. She could listen to what the coach said, and wait for her tune, I thought how big she is!!
When I watched her homework or practicing of Japanese characters, or riding a bike, she was not like this good, so I always got mad though... I don't have any patient to teach kids things, I can't be a good teacher :-p
本人が楽しんでいるのが一番、ちょっと遠くてバスを乗り継がないといけないのがたまに傷ですが、私も喜音の成長を楽しませてもらってます＾＾

Anyway, I'm so glad she is enjoying a gymnastic :-) Good for her!

公園日和 Carkeek Park

まだまだ寒いシアトルですが、ちょくちょく、お天気のいい日はあったかくもなってきました。
この日は晴天！シアトルでは貴重な綺麗な晴れの日でした。
これはどこか外にいかなくては！と朝から張り切ってまずは近くの公園へ。
ちょっとしたらお友達からお呼びがかかって、一緒にCakeek　Parkというビーチもある公園へ。
うちから比較的近い公園なのですが、車がないとちょっと厳しい。

It's still chill and very dark here though, it was a beautiful day one day.
so, we had no choice to go to outside, we had lunch and went to the Bitter lake park at first, and then our friend called me to take us to YMCA, and park,so after we worked out, we went to Carkeek park which is one of parks I wanted to visit :-) There is a beach too, Kids were excited and they took their clothes off mostly, it's still chill though. Yukine is most like old lady, so she was complained about cold soon, and she didn't play with friends and just sat down... when Kanata was born, I took Yukine to outside to play with snow, but she went back to inside soon.... Why is she such a weak girl ????? :-( Actually, it was still cold in shore though.
Anyway, I liked the park very much, however it is close from our place, it's kinda hard to reach there without a car, no bus, some hiking trail. It's inconvenient that we don't have a car sometimes :-(













子どもたちは、もう夏のよう。でもやっぱりビーチは風邪が強くまだまだ寒い、喜音はあいかわらずヘタレで、この後すぐに「寒い。。。おうち帰りたい。。。うごけない〜。。。」なぜにこんなばあさんみたいなん？この子って。。。。全く最近の若いもんは！


ビーチの隣に線路が。ちょうど貨物列車が通りかかりました。奏大くん、真剣です。動きません。笑

シアトルでは晴れがあまりにも珍しいのかみんななんとかこの綺麗な日を楽しもうとする節があります。

ぶり豚が前のこういうお天気の日にバスに乗った時、運転手さんがこんな話を乗客にしていたということ。
「いや〜本当は今日、俺風邪引いて（仮病）休むはずだったんだけど、電話かけたらもうすでに8人風邪引いたらしくてさ〜、さすがに俺もって言えなくて今運転してるねん。」

。。。。8人。。。大の大人が仮病。。。
さすがシアトルです。笑

Happy EASTER

イースターバニーおばあちゃん。かわいらしい。

4月12日はイースター（キリスト復活祭）でした。
日本に、クリスマス、ハロウィンはだいぶ浸透してますが、
イースターは全く無縁なので、そこまで大きなイベントと思っておらず。
この日の寿司屋のバイトが思いのほかめちゃめちゃ忙しくてびっくり！！！！
いつもよりも２時間も残業でしたーー：

ちなみにぶり豚の実家ではあまりイースターが大きくなかったので
アメリカ人の彼でもシアトルの大きさにそして、イースターに寿司ってことにびっくり！
さすがシアトル！？シアトルは基本的にイベント好きでパーティ好きの模様。＾＾：

11日のイブでは至る所で、「エッグハンティング（卵狩り）」という催しが行われました。
エッグハンティングは本当は卵を家に隠してみんなで見つけるってものだけど、
だいたいイベントとされるのは、キャンディーやらチョコやらをばら撒いて
子供たちがそれを探して集めるもの。卵は生命の誕生の象徴だかららしいです。
イースターにはイースターバニーとかいううさぎがやってきて、子どもたちに
なにかプレゼントをくれるらしい。春のクリスマスみたいなもんですね〜
うさぎは、春のこれまた象徴なのだとか。まぁ日本のお年玉みたいなもん？？

私たちも近くのコミュニティーセンターで行われたのに早速行ってきました。

０〜２才、プリスクーラー（幼稚園生）、その上と別れて不公平にならないようにと
配慮も。私は奏大くんを連れて、０〜２才組へ。体育館にキャンディーがばら撒かれ、
小さい子どもにも取れるように。でもこの年齢の子たちは全く興味なく、欲もないので
むしろ、親が「あれを取れ！」「これのがいい！」と必死になってました。笑

喜音はお友達の両親と一緒にプリスクーラー班へ。沢山キャンディーを拾ってきて
ご満悦。これも、ハロウィン同様、一日一個と決めて早速隠さねば！
アメリカでキャンディーは自分で買わなくて良さそうです。いいのか、悪いのか＾＾：

Happy Easter, everyone!
We went to the community center's Egg Hunting this Saturday.
I didn't know that Easter is soooo big event because we don't celebrate it at all in Japan, of course, and even Brit, he didn't know that people held the big party on Easter! So I didn't expect that my sushi depart would be very busy, but, in fact, it was incredibly busy day :o I worked over 2 hours than usual! I was soooo tired on this weekend...

Anyway, Kids, especially, Yukine ( Actually,Kanata doesn't matter it at all :p)was really excited about Easter. She knew about Easter from Kids TV show like Dora or Max and Ruby things like that.
She got tons of tons of candies ( I hid them immediately though :p) and we tried to dye eggs at home, it was my and Yukine's first time to dye eggs. It was fun :-)
And, Easter bunny came to her place too!

I hope everyone had a good Easter!

お花見と再会 Enojyed seeing beautiful cherry blossoms

先週末、ここシアトルは桜が満開でした。ぶり豚の大学は桜で有名なので今週末私たちも見に行くことに。しかも今回は素敵なお客様も一緒.　私たちがまだ付き合ってないころからのお友達、ぶり豚にとってはもう本当に昔からのお友達、クリスが軍でイラクからやっと帰ってきて私たちに会いにきてくれたのです。本当に無事でよかった。最前線ではないにしても何が起きるかわからない、イラクに行ってたから本当にずっと心配していました。本当に本当によかった。そして、3年？4年ぶりの再会はすごくすごく嬉しかった。そして、今回は奥様のクリスティーナも一緒だからなお嬉しい！いやいや、本当によかったね、クリス＾＾


ぶり豚と子供たちは前の日の土曜日もぶり豚のクラスのお花見に行っていたので続けて二回、なんてうらやましい！私は日曜日の仕事があったので、5時から合流。ぶり豚たちは昼間は航空博物館に行ってました。子どもたちも大人も楽しかったみたい。写真を見るとなかなか楽しそうな迫力ありそうな博物館。私もいつか行ってみたいな〜。






桜は日本にも負けず劣らずとっても綺麗に咲いてました。桜を見ると日本を思い出しますね〜。八坂神社の桜、家の近くの壬生寺の桜、実家の高遠公園の桜、いろんな思い出が蘇って来ます。次に桜の季節にちょうど日本に帰るのはいつかまったく分からないので日本の桜は本当にいつ見れるか。。。死ぬまでに見れるかしら？？

















私のお店の寿司持って、唐揚げならぬケンタを買って、いっぱい持ってお花見ムード＾＾
お花もご飯も（結局ご飯メイン？　特に奏大　笑　↓）　堪能した週末でした。
ちなみにぶり豚曰く、やっぱりこの桜を見てるのは気のせいかアジア人が多いとのこと。しかもご飯持ってくるのは主、アジア人らしい。やっぱりアジアと桜は切っても切れない関係なのかな〜。



We went to seeing cherry blossoms in UW last weekend. Brit had the party on Saturday and He went to there with me and his friend, Chris on Sunday, so he did Ohanami, which means the party viewing cherry blossoms, twice the weekend ! It was soooo sunny and sooo warm like early summer, Seattle people already wore sleeveless shirts and short pants :-o I thought it's too much thought :-p
Brit told me the funny story that a bus driver tried to get day off because he had a cold (not really ), but 8 people had a cold and they got day off already, so he gave up :-p Brit said Seattle people is starving about sunny day in winter, so once it's happen, people try to enjoy the beautiful day too much. It's funny, but I agree with him!

Anyway, Cherry blossoms were really really pretty.I thought back about Kyoto Yasaka park when I saw beautiful cherry blossoms in UW same as Japanese one. I really enjoyed them and .... food too ;-) It's important for Ohanami too! haha. I ate too much though....



And, as I mentioned it first, Our friend, Chris and his wife, Christine came visit us! I was soooo glad to see them. The last time I saw him was when Yukine was about same age as Kanata! so it was like 3 years ago. I can't believe it! He didn't change at all except he has wife now that, which is good for him :-)
Unfortunately, I had work from 12 to 5, so they went to the Boeing Airplane museum. According to Brit, it was really cool, and the kids enjoyed there very much, Yukine made a kite and brought it back.

つかの間の For a while

今ぶり豚が子どもと学校のお花見に出かけ、私はバイトまであと1時間。
珍しく一人だけで家にいます。
お天気もすごくよくて、朝からヨガのクラスも行ってきて、
なんだかすごく贅沢な時間。＾＾

たまには必要ですね。

あ〜ぁ、気持ちいい〜♪

あと一時間なにしようかな？？　

Brit and kids are just heading to his school for his class's picnic party under the cherry blossoms tree right now, and I couldn't go together because I have work in the afternoon, so I am at home alone!

I went to yoga class in this morning, and right now, I'm at home alone, How luxurious time is it!!!

I'm feeling soooo good!

What will I do with １hour I got ? hehehe ;-)
